Police say investigators recovered parts from stolen vehicles, guns and drugs during the investigation.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — During a news conference on Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police Department officials announced they recovered nine guns, drugs and more than $650,000 worth of stolen car parts during a chop shop investigation.

LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey explained that chop shops are operations where stolen vehicles are brought in and dismantled into individual parts.

“Then they sell the parts individually for the profit, as opposed to selling the entire car. Makes it much more difficult to track once you’ve broken that up into parts,” said Chief Humphrey.

Police initially arrested four suspects, and a fifth person has now been charged. The five people arrested are Andres Gonzalez, Alexis Goodman, Amanda Guerrero, Joseph Probus and William Hutchens.

They face multiple charges, including engaging in organized crime, trafficking in stolen vehicles or vehicle parts and receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more.

Investigators identified four locations connected to the chop shop operation where they recovered stolen vehicles or parts. The addresses are in the 3300 block of Woodland Drive, the 7500 block of Michael Drive, the 2700 block of 7th Street Road and the 10100 block of Mitchell Hill Road in Fairdale.

The Mitchell Hill Road location has a banner identifying the property as White Shark Auto Sales. The lot sits next to 502 Paw Spa. Madison Hammers, whose family operates the spa, watched from inside the business as police filled the street last week.

“And we just heard this really loud bang,” said Hammers.

She shared a video she recorded from the window of her business with WHAS11 while police were investigating the scene.

“It was definitely shocking,” said Hammers.

Chief Humphrey said he expects the investigation could lead to additional arrests.

“These are not the only ones (chop shops),” said Chief Humphrey. “And I have an expectation that this investigation will lead to us discovering more.”

Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 9 a.m. The other four suspects have already appeared in court.
