LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Jefferson County man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison following multiple drug and firearm convictions after a weeklong trial in September.

U.S. Attorney Kyle G. Bumgarner, FBI Louisville Field Office Special Agent in Charge Olivia Olson, and Louisville Metro Police Chief Paul Humphrey announced the sentence.

Court records show Stephen Piercy was also ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release. A jury found he helped distribute large amounts of methamphetamine and possessed firearms despite being legally prohibited from doing so.

“Drug traffickers who push highly addictive drugs such as methamphetamine onto our streets have no place in our society,” said Special Agent Olson. “FBI Louisville sees the devastating impacts these substances have on our communities, and we will continue to use every available resource to identify, disrupt, and dismantle dangerous drug trafficking networks.”

Prosecutors said Piercy collaborated with others from 2021 through 2023 to traffic more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and was convicted on multiple firearm-related charges.

In Jefferson County Circuit Court on October 3, 2008, Piercy was previously convicted of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance.

“This sentence shows what we can accomplish when LMPD and our federal partners work together. Drug traffickers who fuel violence in our city will face serious consequences, and we will continue joining forces to protect Louisville’s neighborhoods,” said Chief Paul Humphrey of the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Bumgarner added, “Methamphetamine has been plaguing our communities for too long. With our law enforcement partners, we are committed to pursuing and aggressively prosecuting substantial drug traffickers like Stephen Piercy. I hope Piercy’s conviction and 25-year sentence act as a deterrent to other drug dealers.”

The FBI and LMPD led the investigation into the case.
