LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville firefighter was injured after a vacant building caught fire Saturday night in the Portland neighborhood.
Louisville Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of North 19th Street. When they arrived, they found a fire on the second floor of a two-story building.
Firefighters contained the fire to the second floor, and nearby buildings were not affected. Crews searched the entire building, and no occupants were found.
A total of 25 firefighters, four engines and two trucks were required to put out the fire, which remains under investigation by Louisville Metro Arson. One firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries from a fall during the response.
No other injuries were reported.
