LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Fire officials say a lightning strike sparked a house fire at a home off Brownsboro Road on Tuesday night.

Crews responded to a structure fire in the 2800 block of Riedling Drive around 7:08 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the roof. They located the fire in the attic and began working to extinguish it. Officials said the effort was challenging due to ongoing renovations and multiple roof layers.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of firefighters arriving.

Officials confirmed the cause was a lightning strike.

Two people were displaced because of the fire, but no injuries were reported.
