Showers and potentially severe thunderstorms could impact Louisville on Nov. 18 as a cold front pushes into the region, according to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service in Louisville.
While some rain may fall in the morning, stronger storms are expected between 3 and 10 p.m. NWS meteorologist CJ Padgett said the system could bring lightning, hail, gusty winds, and low-end tornadoes. Rainfall totals are estimated between 1 and 1.5 inches.
“The area is not likely to have widespread flooding issues,” Padgett noted.
He recommends staying updated on forecast changes and heading indoors immediately if lightning is detected.

Temperatures will drop to around 42 degrees overnight. There’s a 40% chance of showers after 3 a.m., with increasing clouds and light winds moving east.
Nov. 18
Highs will reach 58 degrees, with showers and thunderstorms likely throughout the day. Rain chances sit at 90%, and up to an inch of rainfall is possible. Southeast winds will move at 5–7 mph.
Overnight, temperatures dip to 51 degrees with patchy fog after 10 p.m. More showers and possible storms are expected. South winds around 6 mph will become calm. Rain chances remain at 80%.

Highs are expected to reach 61 degrees with light winds. There’s a 20% chance of showers before 1 p.m. and patchy morning fog. The night will be mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers after 1 a.m. and a low of 48 degrees.
Nov. 20
Temperatures rise to 63 degrees with an 80% chance of rain, mainly after 1 p.m. Overnight lows will be around 57 degrees, with showers and possible thunderstorms. Rain chances increase to 90%.
Nov. 21
Another round of showers and thunderstorms is possible after 1 p.m., with a high near 64 degrees. Rain chances are 80%. The night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 48 degrees and a 70% chance of showers and storms.
Nov. 22
Partly sunny skies are expected with a high near 58 degrees and a 30% chance of showers before 1 p.m. Nighttime will be partly cloudy with a low around 41 degrees and a 20% chance of showers.
Nov. 23
The day will be mostly sunny with a high near 58 degrees and a 20% chance of showers. The night will be partly cloudy with another 20% chance of showers and a low of 42 degrees.
