KENTUCKY — Louisville Metro Police are investigating the shooting death of an 8-year-old child that occurred late Saturday night.

Officers responded to a call just after 10:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of Bardstown Road, according to police spokesperson Matthew Sanders. When they arrived, officers discovered that the child had died from what investigators believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
