LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Plans for 140-West, a new 27-story tower in downtown Louisville, are moving forward, marking the first major addition to the skyline since the Omni Hotel opened in 2018.

The skyscraper will feature a hotel with over 300 rooms, along with restaurants, bars, and a swimming pool.

“We’ve got a record amount of investment going on in downtown, announced or underway—$2.3 billion. It shows the great confidence and faith in the city,” said Rebecca Fleischaker, executive director of the Louisville Downtown Partnership.

A spokesperson for Zyo, the New York-based developer, confirmed that demolition and site preparations at Second and Market streets will begin next month.

With a $175 million price tag, the project will also include public green space near the site. Fleischaker noted that approval from the downtown review board ensures the area will be enjoyable for the public before construction begins.

The hotel brand for the tower has not been announced, and a completion date is yet to be determined. Calls to Zyo’s headquarters have not been returned.
