LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WBKO)Officer DeAris Hoard of the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has earned national recognition as a 40 Under 40 Awardee from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

The award highlights rising leaders in law enforcement who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, and community service. Officer Hoard was honored alongside 39 others from around the world.

Hoard serves as a coordinator in LMPD’s Research and Strategic Advancement Unit, where he works to transform the future of policing. He holds both a Master’s Degree and a PhD in criminal justice.

LMPD praised him, saying, “Officer Hoard’s commitment to bridging the gap between research and operations is reshaping how police agencies train, evaluate, and support their officers — not just in Louisville, but across the nation.”
