LOUISVILLE, Ky. — More than a month after a fatal shooting in the St. Dennis neighborhood, 33-year-old Aleshia Reed has been arrested and charged with murder (domestic violence), according to Louisville Metro Police (LMPD).

Police responded to the 3200 block of Teakwood Circle just before 1:30 p.m. on September 7 after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, Reed directed officers to her bedroom, where the victim was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators noted broken items on the floor, likely knocked off an end table during an altercation, and found a shotgun lying on its side in the corner of the bedroom.

Police determined that Reed was the only person present with the victim at the time of the shooting. The medical examiner confirmed the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.

LMPD collected additional items of evidentiary value from the scene as the investigation continues.
