LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)Ford Motor Company is expanding its Louisville operations through a $41.28 million land purchase. The company acquired over 65 acres adjacent to its existing Kentucky Truck Plant on Chamberlain Lane, near the Gene Snyder Freeway.

The property was sold by Cincinnati-based Nine Five, which had purchased the land in 2018 for $575,000.

“This expansion of the Kentucky Truck Plant site is another example of Ford’s commitment to American manufacturing,” a Ford spokesperson said. The move follows the company’s August announcement of a $2 billion investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant.

It is not yet clear what Ford plans to do with the new land. In 2023, the company announced a $1.95 billion investment across its two Louisville facilities as part of a deal with the UAW, which followed a 41-day strike, including two weeks at the Kentucky Truck Plant.
