LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Kentucky WIC will continue normal operations, allowing participants to use their WIC cards to purchase approved foods despite the ongoing shutdown.
Stores will remain able to process WIC transactions, and Louisville Metro Health and Wellness (LMHW) encourages families to keep appointments and stay in contact with their WIC clinics.
LMHW stated that Kentucky WIC is in frequent communication with federal partners at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is actively monitoring the situation to ensure continued services for Kentucky families.
The agency said it will provide updates and notice of any potential impacts to participants, local agencies, vendors, and WIC partners as more information becomes available.
