An Angleton High School teacher was arrested after a nearly year-long inquiry that began with claims of illicit connections between students.
Holly Schroedter Adams, 41, was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 25, after a Brazoria County grand jury handed indictments following an investigation that began in August 2025.
Adams, a history teacher at Angleton High School, had been with the school district since August 2018.
According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, the claims that Adams had inappropriate connections with students were first reported to them on August 28, 2025.
Investigators then began what the sheriff’s office described as a lengthy and detailed inquiry. Detectives interviewed various current and former students and looked into evidence related to the allegations.
After nearly a year of investigation, the case was brought before a Brazoria County grand jury.
Grand Jury Returns Three Charges
On August 25, 2026, the sheriff’s office obtained indictments coming from the investigation.
Adams was arrested and charged with one third-degree felony count of tampering with physical evidence, as well as two Class A misdemeanor counts of purchasing/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
The charges announced by authorities do not contain allegations of an improper relationship between educator and student. The sheriff’s office declined to disclose any information regarding the evidence Adams is suspected of tampering with, the circumstances surrounding the alcohol-related charges, or if the youngsters involved were pupils.
Adams was booked into the Brazoria County Detention Center on $26,000 bail. She secured a bond and was freed later Tuesday.
