Jerry Edward Wagers, a beloved resident of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 5, 1946, in Laurel County, Kentucky, Jerry was the cherished son of the late Ford Wagers and Dora Mae Woodall. He was a devoted husband to Connie Pittman Wagers, with whom he shared a loving marriage.
Jerry is survived by his four children: Mary Susan Norman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Deborah Wagers of London, Kentucky; Lauren Wagers of Manchester, Kentucky; and Johnathan Wagers and his wife Mindy of Carrollton. He also leaves behind a sister, Evelyn Hamblin of Keavy, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren: Kevin Martin, Peyton Murray, Halley Wagers, Shelby Hillebrandt, Kortnee Wagers, Shianne Murray, Katie Murray, Ema Wagers, Bryson Wagers, Lydia Wagers, Paige Bishop; and a great-grandchild, Bentlee Martin, along with numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Martin, and three siblings: Donald Wagers, Joseph Wagers, and Theresa Amaral.
Jerry dedicated his career to working as a superintendent in the oil field industry. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a man of the Catholic faith.
The funeral service for Jerry Edward Wagers will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with Bobby Mills officiating.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation starting at 3 pm until the time of the service.
Inurnment will follow at a later date at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy.
