WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – A man from Illinois was taken into custody after allegedly making threats toward people attending a funeral in Williamsburg, authorities said.
According to the Williamsburg Police Department (WPD), officers were alerted Friday to a heavily armed individual making concerning statements about funeral attendees. The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Daniel Graiber, reportedly traveled from Illinois to Williamsburg, stopping at two gun stores along the way, where he attempted to purchase a 100-round drum magazine.
Upon arriving at the funeral, Graiber allegedly questioned employees about the arrival time of family members for the visitation. Law enforcement officers intervened and arrested him before any incident could occur.
Authorities say Graiber falsely claimed to be a peace officer and stated he was affiliated with the CIA, FBI, and Kentucky State Police.
During the arrest, investigators recovered multiple items, including:
- Three handguns
- Several gun magazines

- A law enforcement-style ballistic vest
- Suspected hydrocodone tablets
- A baton/asp
- A cellphone
- Other miscellaneous items linked to the investigation
Williamsburg Police, in collaboration with the FBI, are continuing their investigation. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
