Man charged after traffic stop yields half a pound of methamphetamine

A Nicholasville man is behind bars after a traffic stop yielded roughly half a pound of suspected methamphetamine, police say.

The Nicholasville Police Department announced on social media that on Thursday, “the Nicholasville Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, with the help of the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Department and K9 Merlin, conducted an interdiction operation that resulted in a traffic stop.”

Cherokee Williams, 31, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
