Alleged Kidnapper Arrested After Crash At Notorious Charleston And Lamb Intersection

One of East Las Vegas’ more notorious intersections saw fresh flashing lights Saturday night after a suspected kidnapping ended in a crash and an arrest near Charleston Boulevard and Lamb Boulevard. While cops sealed off the area while detectives searched the scene, police said that the woman at the center of the incident was discovered safe.

Officers on the scene claim that the case began as a suspected kidnapping and developed into a car chase that resulted in a collision close to Lamb and Charleston. Metro police confirmed to News 3 Las Vegas that they had arrested a man and found the woman unharmed. While investigators worked, drivers were asked to avoid the area.

The crossroads took a while to reopen. While detectives recorded the collision, collected evidence, and awaited workers to remove the damaged vehicles, police kept it closed for hours. News 3 Las Vegas said, “The intersection at Charleston and Lamb is shut down while investigators are on scene,” adding that adjacent lanes were also stopped while investigators and tow trucks worked in the area.

Police claimed that the event was related to a domestic abuse case, but Metro didn’t provide many further details right away. As they assembled a case file for prosecutors, detectives continued to conduct interviews and gather evidence far into Saturday night.

Charleston and Lamb are already well-known to the locals, but not for positive reasons. According to local news, the intersection’s inclusion on lists of high-crash locations created from Metro collision data has contributed to increased enforcement at issue spots around the valley. KTNV previously covered these rankings and the department’s traffic task force’s emphasis on high-collision roads.

The police did not immediately disclose the suspect’s name or whether charges had been brought. After all the evidence has been examined, investigators and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office will make those determinations. The contact information for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department may be found on the department’s website. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information get in touch with Metro.
