Man accused of stripping naked, masturbating in front of people at Cherokee Park arrested
A man was arrested after police said he stripped naked and touched himself in front of people at Cherokee Park.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers arrested 59-year-old Gregory Mack on Friday night after receiving several anonymous tips.
Earlier this week, LMPD shared a social media post warning the public about a man who was reportedly seen fully naked near Scenic Loop at Cherokee Park and committing “lewd acts” before running away.
Police said some of the incidents happened in front of children. Investigators said the man had been spotted near Hogan’s Fountain, the lower soccer fields, Chauffeur’s Rest and the Scenic Loop area.
Court documents state that multiple people witnessed a man masturbating in different areas throughout the park.
According to the documents, witnesses saw him with his underwear pulled down around his ankles while touching himself and watching females at the park.
Several witnesses reportedly took pictures of him before leaving the park and contacting police.
Mack now faces charges of first-degree and second-degree indecent exposure.
Residents living in Mack’s neighborhood said they were shocked to learn the man in the viral photos lived on their street.
“That’s disgusting,” said Karly Richardson, who lives in the neighborhood.
Another resident, Elliott Haas, said Mack’s arrest reflects poorly on the community.
“It’s kind of gross and it kind of just destroys our community as a whole,” Haas said.
Mack appeared in arraignment court Saturday morning, where a judge set his unsecured bond at $2,500.
He is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial conference on May 29. If he fails to appear, he will be required to pay the full bond amount.
