Goss Avenue will remain closed between Shelby and Logan Streets.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Officials announced Friday that the closure of Goss Avenue has been extended as work continues on a major road project.
According to KYTC officials, the stretch between Shelby and Logan Streets will now stay closed through Friday, May 1.
The closure is part of the KY 864 project to convert a one-way street into a two-way roadway.
Officials said the extension is needed so crews can continue work on the concrete median. Drivers are advised to follow posted detours, which include:
Southbound Shelby Street detour, with access to and from Goss Avenue via Mulberry Street and McHenry Street.
Northbound Shelby Street detour using Ormsby Avenue, South Clay Street, and Camp Street.
The nearly $3 million project is designed to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety along the corridor by converting Logan and Shelby streets into two-way roads between Goss Avenue and East Gray Street.
After the conversion, Goss Avenue, Logan Street, Finzer Street, South Campbell Street, and the Chestnut Street Connector will continue to be part of KY 864.
