Louisville police seize drugs, guns in major bust; suspect charged

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police carried out a major operation that led to the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash.

According to a social media post, First Division Squad 1 officers recovered a large amount of cash, narcotics, and stolen guns, resulting in what officials described as a “significant arrest” driven by multiple community tips.

Police arrested 40-year-old Dwight Woodley in connection with the case.

The seizure included fentanyl, meth packaged for sale, synthetic drugs, and a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia, along with stolen firearms.

Woodley faces several charges, including possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving a stolen firearm, trafficking in fentanyl and methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana and synthetic drugs, using restricted ammunition during a felony, and possession of cocaine and other controlled substances.

He was arraigned on April 18 and pleaded not guilty. Authorities said he is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
