Louisville man charged after allegedly shooting roommate during fight

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man faces charges after police say he shot his roommate during a fight at their home.

Police arrested 43-year-old Scott Hodge on Sunday in connection with the shooting. He is charged with assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Officers responded around 10 a.m. Sunday to a reported shooting in the 4600 block of Fegenbush Lane.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police took Hodge into custody following the incident.

According to an arrest slip, Hodge told officers he believed someone was breaking into his home and went to the living room to investigate.

He then realized it was his roommate entering the home but said the two got into a fight. Hodge told police his roommate tried to choke him, and after being released, he believed another assault was imminent.

Court records state that Hodge pulled out a gun and fired one round in an attempt to scare his roommate. The bullet struck the roommate in the thigh, according to police.

A judge set Hodge’s bond at $25,000 during a court appearance Monday morning
