Motorcyclist dies after near north side crash

INDIANAPOLIS – A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the near north side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded around 5:20 p.m. Thursday to the 3300 block of North College Avenue.

Police reported that a motorcycle collided with a black sedan. Emergency crews transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities took her to a hospital for a blood draw, which is standard procedure in serious or fatal crashes. Police said she showed no signs of impairment or intoxication.

Investigators believe both vehicles were traveling northbound on North College Avenue at the time of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
