WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) – UPDATE: The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department reports that deputies have located Dolton Hayes safely and reunited him with his family.
ORIGINAL STORY: Deputies are searching for a missing teen from Williamsburg.
According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, Dolton Hayes, 19, has been missing since around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
He was last seen near his home on Wofford Cemetery Road, wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans, and cowboy boots. Hayes stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has blonde hair and green eyes.
According to his family, Hayes has special needs and takes medication for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. They said he had mentioned wanting to go fishing before he disappeared.
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is asking the community for assistance in locating Hayes. Anyone with information can contact officials by calling the Whitley County non-emergency line at (606) 549-6017 or by sending a message through their Facebook page.
Major Tony Dingess continues to lead the investigation.
