KENTUCKY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday one of its largest drug seizures of the year, part of an ongoing effort to combat large-scale trafficking.

Deputies confiscated 108 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of suspected heroin laced with fentanyl in a single operation. Officials credited the seizure to coordinated detective work and the sharp detection skills of the department’s K-9 Unit.

“This successful interdiction was driven by strategic detective work and the exceptional detection skills of our K-9 Unit, whose efforts were instrumental in the discovery,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson said.

Authorities did not disclose the location of the seizure or any details about arrests due to the ongoing investigation.
