A woman and a man were arrested after police discovered their three children inside a heated car parked outside a Hollywood casino while their parents were inside.
According to Hollywood Police, the children, including a young toddler, were left without water and air conditioning as their parents gambled on the slot machines at the Seminole Classic Casino over the weekend.
Lillian Mun, 32, and Terrence Wright, 42, were taken into jail after their children were discovered at 1 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the arrest report, Mun told arriving authorities that she was in the car with the children when the engine went off. She said that she “did not have the vehicle keys and went inside the casino to locate them from her fiancé…”
Mun then stated that she had been inside the casino “for approximately 20 minutes,” according to the report.
However, after reviewing surveillance cameras, officials discovered that the parents had left their children alone for an hour while they looked to be “playing the slot machine together,” according to the arrest report.
On Monday, Wright appeared in bond court.
“You’re being charged with three counts of child neglect,” stated Broward County Circuit Court Judge Allison Gilman.
In addition to the charges, the judge stated that Mun was breaking her probation.
Paramedics responded to the casino parking lot to examine the children. They were all okay.
As of late Monday afternoon, the youngsters are believed to be in the care of a family acquaintance. The judge ordered that the couple have no contact with their children.
