Trucking company owner sentenced for defrauding Amazon of $3.5M through invoice scheme

A Connecticut man was sentenced to prison for defrauding Amazon of millions of dollars by forming bogus trucking companies and submitting invoices for trailer movements that were never completed.

On October 7, 2026, Pak Express Transport, LLC owner Ameer Nasir, 25, was sentenced to 24 months in jail and three years of supervised release.

Nasir was also required to pay $3,547,090.93 in reparation.

Nasir pled guilty to wire fraud in March 2026. He was detained on May 8, 2025.

Officials allege Nasir cheated Amazon of more than $3.5 million through a scheme using Amazon Logistics, an Amazon business that contracts with motor carriers to carry empty and loaded trailers between cities, as well as between Amazon warehouses and fulfillment centers.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut, Nasir registered 23 trucking businesses with Amazon Logistics, including his own and others “created under false names or by fraudulently using the names and identifying information of other trucking or transportation companies without the knowledge of the operators of those companies.”

Authorities allege that between December 2019 and February 2021, Nasir utilized the companies to get “more than 1,000 transportation assignments,” but then modified information in Amazon Logistics systems to make trailer moves seem to be accomplished when they were not. Nasir allegedly submitted bogus bills to Amazon for trailer movements that were not executed, yet were compensated.

Nasir must report to prison on November 12, 2026. Until then, he is released on a $300,000 bail.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case, with cooperation from Amazon.
