A Silver Spring woman and her daughter-in-law won $50,000 in the Mega Millions lottery, their second win in less than two years.
The pair has kept playing the same numbers they got from a quick-pick ticket several years ago. For the drawing on September 18, their ticket matched four of the five white balls as well as the Mega Ball, earning them $10,000. A 5X megaplier multiplied the winnings to $50,000.
The daughter-in-law later validated the win at the gas station on 8384 Colesville Road in Silver Spring, where the ticket was bought.
The couple previously won a $50,000 Powerball jackpot in December 2024. They used their previous prizes to help family members and pay off debt, and they intend to do the same with their most recent reward.
