Travis County, Texas , Authorities discovered two women deceased inside a Wells Branch-area apartment on Wednesday morning in what the Travis County Sheriff’s Office has classified as a suspected murder-suicide.
Deputies responded to an apartment complex located in the 3400 block of Shoreline Drive at approximately 8:45 a.m. following a report from a property manager who found the women, according to TCSO.
The property manager had entered the apartment to perform routine management duties and discovered both women unresponsive after receiving no reply, authorities confirmed.
Investigators determined that preliminary evidence suggests the deaths constitute a murder-suicide, although the inquiry remains in its initial phases.
TCSO stated that investigators currently do not suspect the involvement of a third party, and they confirmed that no threat to the public has been identified.
Officials have not disclosed the identities of the two women or clarified the nature of their relationship. Authorities also withheld details regarding the cause of death pending further investigation.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that this case represents its 13th homicide investigation of 2026. In contrast, TCSO investigated a total of eight homicides throughout all of 2025.
These fatalities follow two separate and unrelated homicide investigations that Austin police initiated earlier the same Wednesday. Officers discovered one man deceased on Springdale Road in East Austin, and another man dead less than an hour later in the front yard of a residence on Virtus Bend in South Austin.
