Binghamton man taken into custody on multiple weapons charges

A Binghamton man is facing various counts following a report of suspicious activity on Kattelville Road in the Town of Chenango.

It happened on September 12 at a Kattelville Road apartment.

State Police discovered that 35-year-old Craig Michael Brown was in possession of multiple assault weapons, a large-capacity magazine that did not comply with New York State law, and a pistol without a valid permit.

According to police, Brown fired the pistol inside the residence.

Troopers also found suspected narcotics in Brown’s possession.

He was arrested and accused of the following:

• Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree

• Four counts of criminal possession of an assault weapon in the third degree

• Criminal possession of an assault weapon in the third degree

• Reckless endangerment

• Two counts of criminal possession of a firearm

• Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree

• Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree

Brown was processed and transferred to the Broome County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
