Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a romance-catfish scam that robbed a woman in Lebanon County of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
State police in Jonestown, Pennsylvania, said a 63-year-old lady reported a romantic scam in which she lost more than $384,000 and hundreds of Apple gift cards.
Authorities are examining financial data and transactions to ascertain the precise extent of her losses. State authorities are attempting to locate accounts and individuals linked with the fraud.
Police encourage the public to never do financial transactions with someone they only know online.
