Police have charged a teen girl with attempted homicide after a shots-fired incident in Clairton.
Euveaya Fuqua is only 15 years old and cannot legally hold a gun, according to Allegheny County police, but she is accused of shooting two other individuals with an AR-style rifle Friday afternoon.
According to data acquired by Channel 11, a Clairton police officer heard gunshots and responded to investigate. The officer apparently discovered Fuqua in a backyard on Halcomb Street and tried to detain her.
According to records, Fuqua resisted and smashed against an officer, causing damage to a police vehicle. A juvenile was seen close with an AR-style gun, but he fled away. Police later discovered the gun, loaded, in a garbage can.
Police interviewed another female, who claimed she was walking down Oak Alley to see a man shortly after 2 p.m. She reported seeing the juvenile and Fuqua arguing at the man’s house, with Fuqua carrying a rifle.
The girl stated she had seen Fuqua post the gun on social media before.
When Fuqua and the juvenile spotted the female, they allegedly approached and threatened her. Just then, the man left his house, and he and the daughter began fleeing.
The girl informed authorities that when she and the male fled to a nearby home, they began to be shot at. According to records, she claimed the gunfire started rapidly, implying that Fuqua was shooting rather than the juvenile.
Police report that the residence where the girl and guy sheltered was hit by gunshots. Seventeen expended rifle rounds were discovered in the area.
According to online court documents, Fuqua is facing numerous accusations, including attempted homicide, assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm as a minor.
Fuqua is being held in the Allegheny County Jail and has been denied bond for being regarded a “threat to society,” according to records.
The preliminary hearing is slated for September 16.
