Montgomery County Police apprehended a driver and discovered a loaded pistol during a traffic check in the White Oak neighborhood on Tuesday evening.
Police said officers from the 3rd District Community Action Team were conducting proactive patrols in the area on September 1 when they initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, police said the driver acknowledged to concealing a loaded weapon. Officers discovered that the driver was prohibited from owning guns. The handgun was recovered, and the driver was detained and taken to Montgomery County’s Central Processing Unit for booking.
The suspect’s identification has not been published by authorities.
