Mississippi police are investigating after a man’s body was discovered wrapped in a tarp and burned.
According to the Greenville Police Department, officers responded on July 21 after a passerby reported seeing what seemed to be a body on Thornton Street.
On Monday, officials recognized the body as that of Robert Elliott.
Officials say the case is still under investigation to ascertain the circumstances behind Elliott’s death.
