17-Year-Old Apprehended For Stabbing Co-Worker In Frederick

A 17-year-old Hyattsville resident has been charged as an adult in connection with a stabbing Thursday afternoon in Frederick County.

Around 3:11 p.m. on August 20, deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 7200 block of Bank Court for a reported stabbing in a parking lot.

Deputies found an adult individual with multiple stab wounds to his arm, chest, and abdomen. The person was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

According to preliminary findings, the victim and suspect cooperated. A verbal quarrel between the two turned into a physical altercation in the parking lot. Investigators believe the attacker stabbed the victim many times before fleeing the area.

The culprit was identified as Darwin Orlando Martinez-Serrano, 17, of Hyattsville. He was apprehended later that evening in Hyattsville and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Martinez-Serrano was charged as an adult with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. Follow-up reports published on August 21 verified the arrest and charges.
