10 People Arrested In Ojinaga Operation; Guns, Texas-plated Vehicles Seized

Ten people were arrested, and firearms, ammunition, vehicles, and communications equipment were recovered during a series of law enforcement operations in Ojinaga, including two vehicles with Texas license plates, according to Chihuahua state security officials.

According to the Chihuahua Secretariat of Public Security, the arrests were made as a result of state police patrols and crime-prevention operations undertaken in collaboration with federal authorities.

Authorities apprehended four people, identified as Francisco A.A., Carlos Manuel G.O., Kimberly A.M., and Adriana Ireny V.O., for allegedly violating Mexico’s Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.

According to authorities, officers seized a handgun, a rifle, five magazines, and 53 rounds of ammunition during the operation. They also seized a 2025 GMC Canyon with Texas plates.

The four inmates and the seized items were handed over to federal officials, according to the agency.

In a separate incident, state officials detained a 16-year-old on a public safety charge after authorities claimed the boy refused officers’ orders. The minor was not named due to his age. Officers seized a 2004 Ford Mustang with no license plates.

During patrols along the Aldama-Ojinaga route, state security officials and Mexican Defense Ministry soldiers captured two people.

Jesús Florencio P.A., also known as “El Greñas,” and Adriana Abigail M.C. were accused of engaging in “halconeo,” a phrase used in Mexico to act as lookouts and alert the presence of police enforcement.

Authorities claimed investigators recovered a Hytera radio, which was reportedly used to inform others to the arrival of security agents, as well as a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

In another operation, officers caught 31-year-old Genaro P.H. on a public safety charge and recovered a Motorola phone. He was given up to the Chihuahua Attorney General’s office.

Ramón C.V. and Nahum Javier L.D. were held in the Porfirio Ornelas area for alleged guns violations and possible involvement in other illicit activity, according to the state security agency.

The officers recovered four 7.62×39 millimeter magazines, 45 rounds of ammo, a ballistic plate, and a 2012 Kia Sportage with Texas license plates.

According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the arrests were part of ongoing enforcement actions by state and federal officials in crucial locations of Chihuahua, including Ojinaga, which is located over the Rio Grande from Presidio, Texas.

Authorities classified the allegations against the detainees as preliminary. Arrests do not establish guilt, and the accused are entitled to due process under Mexican law.
