Police say they carjacked a man at gunpoint on Chicago’s South Side Thursday afternoon, and two people are facing charges.
According to police, a 27-year-old man was in the 4500 block of South Wood Street when two people seized his vehicle at gunpoint.
Officers apprehended the two suspects approximately 15 minutes later in the 4500 block of South Wolcott Avenue and the 1800 block of West 46th Street.
Police identified the two suspects as 19-year-old Eniah Diggs and a 16-year-old female who will not be named owing to her age.
Diggs and the girl were both charged with one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a handgun. The girl was also charged with aggravated unauthorized possession of a weapon in a vehicle by someone under the age of 21.
Diggs was set to appear in Cook County court today for a detention hearing.
