An illegal alien is accused of holding numerous Molotov cocktails while strolling the streets of Will County, Illinois, which includes many Chicago suburbs.
Hamed M. Alsaidi, a 31-year-old who authorities claim has twice been ruled a “inadmissable alien” in the United States, was arrested and charged with felony unauthorized possession of a weapon and misdemeanor hindering identification.
Local police and federal detectives said they saw Alsaidi at a shuttered gas station in Mokena, Illinois, late at nite over the weekend. Alsaidi was told he couldn’t be at the gas station, so authorities transported him to another gas station, where he allegedly introduced himself as Hakmat Saidi.
Later that evening, officers observed Alsaidi wandering thru traffic lanes in the middle of the roadway. He was eventually apprehended, and investigators discovered eight Molotov cocktails in his possession.
Prosecutors claim Alsaidi was also holding a map of the surrounding area.
Despite demonstrating in court that Alsaidi was a flight risk because he was deemed an inadmissible immigrant in 2024 and again in 2025, Will County Judge Theodore Jarz released him from jail pending trial under Illinois’ SAFE-T Act, which abolished monetary bail.
Alsaidi’s pre-trial release includes GPS tracking.
The federal investigation against Alsaidi is being led by officials from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).
