A Franklin Park man sentenced to 14 years in prison for robbing six banks between 2023 and 2024.
German Campos Jr., 26, is suspected of stealing banks in Schaumburg, Elmhurst, Park Ridge, and Niles between October 2023 and August 2024.
He is suspected of committing five of the six robberies with a handgun. Federal authorities have provided a chronology below.
- Oct. 18, 2023: U.S. Bank in Schaumburg
- Dec. 16, 2023: U.S. Bank in Elmhurst
- March 6, 2024: U.S. Bank in Schaumburg
- June 13, 2024: U.S. Bank in Elmhurst
- Aug. 9, 2024: BMO Bank in Park Ridge
- Aug. 28, 2024: U.S. Bank in Niles
Campos Jr. was detained on September 17, 2024, and has been in police custody ever then.
Last Wednesday, a judge sentenced him to 14 years in federal prison.
