The DEA Houston Division said that over 600 pounds of methamphetamine were seized in the Rio Grande Valley as part of a multi-agency investigation.
The DEA Houston Division revealed the seizure Monday, describing it as a big drug bust in South Texas.
According to officials, the operation was led by agents and officers from the DEA McAllen, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) McAllen, the FBI in McAllen, the Texas Department of Public Safety South Texas Region, and the United States Border Patrol.
Authorities stated the methamphetamine was seized during an ongoing High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (HSTF) investigation.
No more information, including arrests or where the drugs were discovered, was immediately provided. The DEA says the inquiry is still ongoing.
