A man was killed and a woman was injured after multiple suspects opened fire from two vehicles Friday afternoon on Chicago’s Southwest Side, authorities said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of West 16th Street.
According to Chicago police, a 27-year-old man was standing on the street when two cars approached. Multiple suspects inside the vehicles fired shots, hitting the man many times.
The man was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced deceased. His identity has not been revealed.
A 56-year-old woman standing nearby was also hit by bullets. She had two gunshot wounds to the back and was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed as fair.
There have been no arrests announced, and authorities are still investigating.
