A federal judge sentenced a Baltimore County man to prison on Tuesday on drug and gun charges related to a federal narcotics investigation, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Jacque “Hammer” Brown, 50, of Randallstown, was sentenced to 135 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for possessing controlled substances with the intent to distribute and possessing a gun while prohibited, after officers discovered 500 grams of fentanyl and two firearms in his home.
According to court filings, in March 2025, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) began investigating Brown after learning he was distributing fentanyl in the Baltimore region.
Brown’s vehicles and Randallstown residence were identified, and the judge granted law enforcement permission to undertake surveillance on his vehicles and cellphone.
Investigators watched a meeting between Brown and his drug supplier in April 2025, followed by many suspected consumers, before police halted his vehicle.
During the traffic stop, an officer discovered narcotics, and Brown attempted to flee. He was later arrested.
When Brown ran, he threw a clear plastic bag containing 15 grams of fentanyl on the ground, which detectives later discovered.
Following Brown’s arrest, investigators issued a search warrant at his home, recovering 500 grams of fentanyl and two firearms, including a loaded 9mm Ruger and a Mossberg Maverick 12-gauge shotgun.
Brown is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Investigators also searched Brown’s phone, discovering messages with his fentanyl supplier.
Now, Brown will serve over 11 years in prison.
