Man Charged After Suspicious Death Of Woman Discovered Inside Falls Church Hotel

A man is facing charges after a woman was discovered dead inside a Falls Church hotel, triggering a suspicious death investigation, according to law enforcement officials.

Falls Church police were dispatched to the Sonesta Suites at 205 Hillwood Avenue at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, for a welfare check on a guest, officials said.

When officers arrived, they were initially denied entry by a room occupant, later identified as Kyle Gosweiler, 37, of Falls Church.

Officers were able to enter the room and discovered the death of a 78-year-old woman. She was pronounced deceased at the spot. Officials stated the woman’s name will be released once her nearest of kin was notified.

Gosweiler was accused with concealing a dead corpse and obstructing justice, police said. He’s being held on bond at the Arlington County Detention Center.

An autopsy is currently proceeding to ascertain the cause and manner of the woman’s death, which was first classed as suspicious based on the scene. The circumstances behind the woman’s death are still under investigation.

A preliminary review revealed that there are no ongoing threats to the community.
