A man was arrested in New Jersey after allegedly stealing and changing a check for over $30,000 from a Milford firm.
Milford Police said the check, which belonged to Countryside Healthcare, was reported stolen last winter after investigators discovered it had been intercepted in the mail. Authorities believe that the defendant changed the payee information before cashing the check mere days later.
Following a long investigation, officers discovered a suspect in New Jersey. Last week, local authorities tracked down and apprehended the man.
He is now awaiting extradition to Massachusetts to face accusations.
