Man taken into custody after running through Mattapan crime scene

A Braintree man was taken into custody Saturday night after rushing across a crime scene where a woman was hit by a car and killed.

According to Boston police, at about 7 p.m., officers were guarding a crime scene at 1617 Blue Hill Avenue when they learned that an unknown man had entered the area.

Hours earlier, 37-year-old Ibraim Matos of Hyde Park fatally struck a woman with a car he had stolen.

Matos is set to appear in Dorchester District Court on Monday.

According to police, the man, 21-year-old Robert Monestime, was spotted shooting video and dropping a cup of an unknown liquid in the centre of the crime scene.

After avoiding many cops, Monestime was apprehended and arrested.

Monestime was charged with disturbing the peace and interfering with a police officer and is scheduled to appear in Dorchester District Court.
