Man apprehended for alleged road rage incident and gun fired

Lincoln police apprehended a man Saturday night after they claim he fired a gun during a road rage incident.

Police responded to reports of gunfire near Angell Road and Leslie Way at 7:15 p.m.

When cops got on the site, they discovered that a road rage incident had occurred, and a gun had been fired.

The culprit fled the scene before police arrived, but officers were able to provide a description of the car involved to the surrounding law enforcement agencies.

A short time later, the Providence Police Department discovered the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The suspect, Steven Lugo, 36, of Providence, was then arrested.

He is charged with many offenses, including drive-by shooting, four counts of child endangerment, carrying a pistol or revolver without a license, carrying a weapon while under the influence, firing a weapon in a confined area, and disorderly conduct.

Investigators believe this was a unique event with no ongoing threat to the community.
