Clearwater Man Apprehended For Murder After Pinellas Park Business Dispute Ends In Shooting

A Clearwater man apprehended after a personal dispute allegedly escalated into a fatal shooting at a Pinellas Park business early Friday morning.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies responded to a report of a gunshot at 6612 69th Avenue North on Friday, June 5, 2026, about 4:44 a.m. Recognizing an urgent situation, deputies forced their way into the building. Inside, they discovered Craig Allan Beeth, 50, of St. Petersburg, dead on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives from the Robbery & Homicide Unit took over the case and identified the suspect as 44-year-old Clearwater resident Robert Leon Worthington. According to investigators, Worthington and Beeth were together inside the shop when they got into an argument. According to authorities, Worthington was apparently distraught over continuing personal troubles before the altercation became physical.

During the altercation, Worthington allegedly pointed a firearm at Beeth and shot him once in the head, killing him. Law enforcement officers confirmed that Worthington fled the scene before deputies arrived.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, deputies found Worthington after conducting a search. He was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail, where he is charged with murder in the first degree.

Authorities stated that Beeth’s next of kin had been notified of his death. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the inquiry is ongoing.
