21-year-old woman taken into custody in downtown shooting that killed 1 and injured 2 others

A 21-year-old woman was taken into custody for her alleged involvement in a May shooting that killed one and injured two others.

Nhi Kha Nguyen is charged with murder in the death of Gregory Anderson, 32, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The incident took place shortly after 3 a.m. on May 24 in the 100 block of South Meridian Street.

According to IMPD, officers were nearby when they heard gunfire from across the street. Officers quickly discovered three adults with gunshot wounds.

Anderson died in the hospital. Two further individuals survived their injuries.

During the inquiry, officers interviewed various community members and rapidly identified Nguyen as a suspect.

Officers discovered Nguyen on June 4 in the 5600 block of Crawfordsville Road. Police reported that she was taken into custody without incident.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charge decision.
