A truck driver was arrested after allegedly firing a handgun at a vehicle carrying a family during a road rage incident on U.S. 23 in Monroe County, according to Michigan State Police.
At 7:42 p.m. Saturday, troopers responded to a report of a suspected shooting on northbound U.S. 23 near Mile Marker 20 in Milan Township.
Authorities said Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call from a 53-year-old Clinton Township man driving a Hyundai with five family members inside.
According to authorities, the driver reported getting into a road rage incident with the driver of a semi-truck. According to investigators, the suspect flashed a firearm from the truck and began firing at the family’s vehicle while following them on the highway.
Troopers went to the area and began an investigation.
Police apprehended a 33-year-old Clinton Township man operating a Peterbilt semi-truck. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail, and charges are pending.
There were no injuries recorded.
