An Amber Alert has been discontinued after a 5-year-old girl abducted from Carson City was located safe. The suspect is currently in custody.
Amaya Meithof was reportedly stolen from her home early Sunday morning. The child’s mother, Crystal Rose, informed Carson City deputies that she had let Christopher Meithof stay with her overnight. When she awoke, she saw Christopher and Amaya had left.
Early Monday morning, a traffic camera on U.S. 395 at Clear Creek Road detected Christopher Meithof. He was nabbed shortly after 2:00 p.m. during a traffic stop in Palmdale, California. Amaya Meithof was not in the vehicle at the time but was discovered unharmed at a nearby home.
