Unlicensed driver from Honduras apprehended at Florida Citrus Center

A Pensacola man was apprehended for driving without a license after being pulled over near the Florida Citrus Center on State Road 44 in Wildwood.

A deputy pulled over a silver Toyota around 3:10 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest record from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He quickly recognized that 21-year-old Osman Elias Herrera Gonzales was not the registered owner, whom he had planned to check owing to his lack of a driver’s license.

However, when asked for his license, Herrera Gonzales also did not have one. Instead, he handed them an ID card and indicated he had a driver’s license appointment the next day, according to the report.

The Honduran native was arrested on the accusation of operating a motor vehicle without a legal license. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center, and bond was set at $500.
