Someone who played the “Keno” lottery at a Massachusetts convenience store only feet away from the New Hampshire border won $160,000 on Friday.
The $160,000 prize was won at the Rusty Lantern Market on Route 97 in Methuen.
“Keno” participants must select 1-12 numbers from 1-80, place a wager, and specify how many consecutive draws to play. They can optionally include a bonus multiplier, and awards are awarded dependent on how many numbers match the 20 drawn.
The Lottery has been conducting a Keno offer since May 22, which will expire on Memorial Day. The “Block Party Bonus” adds a 2x multiplier to some games, on top of the 3x, 4x, 5x, and 10x Bonus multipliers, allowing more games to have a bonus multiplier. That means that when a Keno game is won, the prize is doubled by the bonus amount.
Winners are advised to sign their tickets promptly. Any winnings exceeding $600 must be collected at a lottery office within one year of the drawing date.
Overall, at least 658 prizes totaling $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Friday, with 11 in Springfield, 24 in Worcester, and 80 in Boston.
Every day, the Massachusetts State Lottery distributes a complete list of winning tickets. The list only includes rewards totaling more than $600.
The greatest lottery prize claimed in Massachusetts this year was $25 million. It was a “$25,000,000 Mega Money” ticket purchased at a Cumberland Farms petrol station in Turners Falls, Montague’s largest of five communities.
